When I first arrived at the hotel I was afraid I had made a mistake as it was in a village seemingly in the middle of no where. Upon walking into the property is was charming! Everyone who worked there was very friendly and service was excellent. The property was lovely with a Coi Pond adjacent to the dining area, a modern swimming pool with bathrooms close by, so you didn't have to go to your room if needed. There was lush vegetation and flowers every where, with a massage area in between the pool and coi pond. The room was in a building that had 2 rooms with a patio with a bench and table outside. The room itself was charming, very large, with a zen vibe.It had plenty of lights and ceiling fans, a very comfortable king bed, dressing room area with vanity, a mini fridge with a coffee/tea station, a desk, and a smaller bed that had been setup as a couch, but could be a bed if needed. The attention to detail was amazing. The bathroom was a large with a rain shower, a large counter with a sink and large mirror above it. Towels were in baskets with flowers, the kleenex had been formed into bows on top, the bedding had a beautiful silk throw with flowers petals and laminated info sheets with hotel and local info. The food in the restaurant was amazing, and a wide variety of items was offered. The lobby area was very comfortable with couches surrounding a table and another area with books, games, etc. and a large table where some guests were working on their computers. There was a corner area with locally made items. Of a night the hotel had red lanterns every where and it created a very zen vibe. There were bikes you could borrow. There was a local church nearby that their music could be heard and was very soothing. My only complaint was I was only staying 1 night. The hotel could take care of arranging transportation and tours.

This is a simply stunning hotel. The owners have created something really quite special. Surrounded by nature, you can sit and relax, watching the trees swaying gently in the breeze whilst listening to the wildlife and insects calling in the background. It is so very peaceful, you feel completely isolated from the distractions of the outside world. The gardens and swimming pool are incredible, the rooms authentic and beautiful. Moreover, there is a real focus on the environment and sustainability. For example, some of the hotel is made from reclaimed local wood, plastic straws are replaced with metal ones, water refills are available. All these little details build into a feeling of being appreciative and respectful of everything around you. The food is delicious, we very rarely do this, but we ate at the restaurant most of the time, the prices are very reasonable, the dishes varied and tasty and the setting so tranquil. Staff were fantastic, so very welcoming and approachable. It is easy to strike up a conversation with them and learn more about Battambang and Cambodia. This is one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had, we felt completely at ease and relaxed here and didn't want to leave. We did stay in one of the larger rooms, it was absolutely massive! Slightly more expensive, but if you are treating yourselves, it's very impressive! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Maisons Wat is a very special place and we feel utterly blessed to have stayed there. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel so welcome by the team of incredible staff and within minutes it became apparent this was a very magical place indeed. It is uniquely calm and serene and its design and layout are utterly stunning. Kim, the owner and his wife Sopia have cleverly created something that incorporates the history and tradition of Khmer style and also respects the neighbouring community too. This has been done with such precision and taste that it feels modern, extremely comfortable and super stylish too. Committing strongly to its eco principles all materials and decorations around the hotel have been up cycled and re purposed. Kim is passionate about many things and especially food which is reflected in the excellent Khmer cuisine. The hotel has a great 12 metre salt water pool and with 30 minutes notice the hotel can arrange a massage. The hotel is located in a small village close to a temple and some historic dwellings. It is a 15 minute tuk tuk ride to the centre of Battembang. During our stay my husband was unwell and the kindness of the team here was touching to say the least. I cannot recommend Maisons Wat enough and really hope one day to return.

This is one of my favorite hotels ever. You walk through the gate and feel like you have come to a haven of peace and beauty. The garden with the big pond is so stunning and it has a lovely and secluded pool. The buildings including restaurant and reception and terrace are made out of gorgeous reclaimed wood and the restaurant overlooks the pond and the garden . The owner Mr Kim was there personally to welcome us. He ensures that all the guests are happy and all the staff are also so lovely and helpful. Our room was also so beautiful . The food is organic, breakfast was very nice with excellent coffee different choices and they have a different Khmer three course tasting menu every evening next to the normal menu, all freshly prepared. You can walk into town (around twenty to thirty minutes) or it take a short tuk tuk ride. My son and I loved our stay at the Maison War Kor and highly recommend it. Thank you very much to Mr Kim and his team to make our stay in Battambang so special .

The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. I am a solo traveler and when I reserve a table at a restaurant, I usually get a small table in the back. Not at Maisons Wat Kor! The staff had prepared one of the most beautiful tables at the restaurant for me. The table had an amazing view over the water. I truly appreciate the effort they made. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Furthermore, I loved the salt water pool. The temperature of the water was perfect, not too cold. The rooms are spacious and decorated in a traditional Khmer style. The hotel feels authentic. Finally, I booked a massage and it was one of the best massages I ever had. Simply amazing!
